This is the most common problem, especially around the corners, handles, and zippers of bags, which are areas of high contact and stress. Whether it is genuine leather or artificial leather, long-term friction or collision with hard objects will cause the skin to be damaged, discolored, and fluffed.
Hardware is oxidized, rusted, and discolored
Hardware such as zippers, locks, chains, and metal logos on leather bags can easily become oxidized, blackened, rusted, and even peeled off if exposed to sweat, rain, or long-term exposure to humid air, seriously affecting the appearance of the bag.
Difficult to clean stains
During daily use, the surface of leather bags is prone to stains such as oil stains, water stains, cosmetic residues, and ballpoint pen marks. Bags made of different materials have different tolerances to stains. For example, if a suede bag is stained with water stains, it will leave water marks, and if a smooth leather bag is stained with oil stains, it will penetrate into the leather.
Deformation and collapse of the bag body
If the bag is stored empty for a long time or without support, the bag will gradually lose its original shape; in addition, stuffing too heavy items into the bag will exceed the load-bearing capacity of the bag body, which will also cause the bag body to deform, the bottom to collapse, and even the shoulder straps to stretch and become longer.
The zipper is stuck and cannot be pulled
Dust or lint gets stuck in the zipper teeth, or the zipper tape is damp and deformed, which will cause the zipper to be unsmooth. If you pull hard, it may cause the zipper teeth to be misaligned and the zipper head to be damaged.
Suture opening and thread detachment
Long-term pulling on the seams and stress-bearing points of the bag (such as the connection between the shoulder strap and the bag body) will cause the sutures to loosen and break, especially for bags with average workmanship. This situation will be more common.
Shoulder strap damaged
The joints of the shoulder straps are prone to disconnection and breakage, and the shoulder straps themselves may also suffer from skin abrasion and sponge collapse due to long-term weight bearing and friction, making it uncomfortable to carry.

If the leather bag is stored in a humid environment, or is not dried in time after being wet by rain, mold will breed inside the leather, with black and green mildew spots appearing, accompanied by odor, and in severe cases, the leather will be corroded.
